chicago!

Got back from a week long trip to chicago on sunday. Here are my pics in case anyone cares about someone elses vacation photos....
We stayed at the Palmer-House Hilton which is a $200+ a night hotel... This is the lobby:
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
This is our room. it is the third nicest room in the hotel, being that its on the only corner that can see lake Michigan and it is bigger than most of the other rooms:

The views looking out the windows in daylight:

Some panoramic shots of downtown. You could fit like 5 downtown minneapolises in this damn city!

This is a nice view from the river that goes through downtown. there are all sorts of nice boats cruising the waters on a saturday night and the architecture of the buildings on the river is amazing:

This is the Hancock center:

This is the Sears Tower. The highest building in North America. You can see 4 different states from it on a clear day.

Various views from the top of the Sears Tower:

This is a park called Millenium Park. It is quite new and is really cool becaues its like a little vacation right in the middle of downtown. This is the ampitheater and grassy lawn area. As you can see by the night time shot, people just come here and set out blankets and drink champagne and chill and stuff. the buildings lights change colors too...

This is a... umm... art installment / fountain at Millenium Park. A video of a face is projected on this (theres another one behind where the picture is taken from) for about ten minutes and it blinks and smiles and stuff and then about every ten minutes, the face puckers up and sprays all the people beneath it with water for about 20 seconds. TONS of kids come here to splash around and play every day. there are 1000 faces of various Chicago residents that it goes through.

finally, the CARS!!! This city is a damn Ferrari heaven. The pics below represent a small portin of waht was actually seen. There was 5 other 360 modenas and a few others as well. here are the 'rarris i got a chance to photograph:

classy

this is a restaraunt called Bellanotte (in case you cant read the bright ass sign in the picture) in downtown minneapolis, right across from the target center... expensive food, very nice area. i hvae yet to eat there but it has gotten good reviews.

their valet parking is fucking insane. last nights lineup was less impressive then last saturdays but still these cars last night were there and these were the best of the bunch. we got a silver dodge viper, a red ferrari 360 modena spider, and a black 2002 lotus esprit (i will own one!) last week there was another ferrari and a couple "bling bling" big ass rims on average cars in addition to the exotics below...

neigh

this is the most retarted thing ive ever seen... well, close to. how ffriggin stupid would you feel getting a speeding ticket from cops on HORSES?! yeah, these morons had their horsies galloping down university ave and cut a guy off and told him to pull over and proceeded to write him a ticket for something. fucking saint paul police! i hate them. the bastards dont even care that their horses take human sized shits every other second on public streets.

wetdog

for those who have been visiting here since the beginning, you may remember my dog at my work named Pawsi. well here he is, after a hoesdown in the heat yesterday. yes, hes still a moron who has caused over $1000 in damages to various cars/parts since weve had him. after his little "bath" he just stood there like this with his eyes closed for about ten minutes, not knowing waht to do.

cars

todays nice cars. its a secret where the warehouse ones are from. there was a SHITLOAD of nice cars in there including multiple ferraris, some jaguars and a few hotrods.first we have a delorean. like the one in back to the future where the doors open gullwing style.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
second, another lotus like the one im gonna be owning soon... oh, note the couple ferraris in the back.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
and third, saving the best for last, a lamborghini countach!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

lotus

ok, here is my next car if i get rid of the impala. and im serious about this one. its a Lotus Esprit Turbo. these things are in my realistic price range and i could afford one right now. the thing is, they are pushing enough horsepower to keep up with most lower end ferraris and even nip at the heels of the lamborghini countach performance wise. top speed of 170! mark my words i will have one of these in my garage by next year this time!

tall

my artistic photo for the week. the IDS building downtown. nothing special. damnit i want to go to the top of this thing.

fire

on july fourth after i was done lighting off my entire arsenal, i got a call from my parents saying that a house in my neighborhood was on fire and that every firetruck in the metro area was there. we went and it was true. this is the aftermath. according to the rumors, this guy worked on lawnmowers in his garage as his retired pass-time and evidently had a lot of gasoline in the garage that somehow went up in flames, possibly fireworks related. no i was no where near his house if thats waht your thinking!! anyways, everyone is safe and even the dog was rescued. yes that is a minivan and yes there is the shell of another car in waht used to be the garage there. it kinda melted.

livin

this is my friend bill. me and some friends were driving through central edina where the big houses are last year and came upon this house with a three car garage full of nice cars including this ferrari, a porsche 911 race car, mercades slk500 convertible and a shelby cobra. we asked if we could go up the hill and take a look and the owner said sure. we talked to him for a long time and he gave us beers and was a really cool guy. he just happened to pull up next to me at a stoplight the other day. this is the type of guy i want to model my life after. every nice day, you can drive by his monstrosity of a mansion and see all the garage doors open and his car collection under the neon, being shown off magnicifently. of course my cars will be better though. ;)

stains

ok, clothes shopping the other day. saw this... mroe stupid trendy shit. along with the fad of having tears and rips in your jeans that make them look "worn" there is now "paint splatters" on jeans that i think look more like a guy whipped out his junk in the store and jacked off all over the side of the pants. seriously, its some kid in a hong kong sweat shops job, for $0.05 a day, to sit there with a screwdriver and pantbrush and cut holes and splatter paint on jeans that are being shipped to america. my theory is that if the sweatshops can wear the pants out before someone even buys them, that means they are that much closer to being garbage and will get worn out that much faster, therefore forcing rich trendy people to wear them for the month they last and then have to get new ones because the artifical tear became a larger REAL tear that went all the way up the leg. or wait... is that gonna be the new trend now?christ people, think for yourselves and dont let mtv, abercrombie and "teen people" tell you what to wear. youll just look like a clone.

boom!

RUN!! i got explosives!!!! >:)this is my arsenal for this year. $200 worth. theres a sample of just about everything in there.. oh and everything you see isnt everything thats there, keep in mind the stuff thats in the boxes are in layers :) i got enough whistling bottle rockets to last me a few years. if anyone is interested in coming to the mini-show that i try to put on every year, give me a call. its basically gonna be a bunch of people with lighters running around and lighting all this stuff off with the big tubes as a finale at the end.

in your face

stupid ipods. suchs a god damn trend. i think its because of advertising like this crap. this is the side of two whole light rail trains. not to mention they got city busses, billboards, MILLIONS of tv ads and everything. damnit a people, my new cellphone has the capability to hold more then an ipod mini. oh and it makes calls, takes pics and surfs the internet.... gah. i think i would appreciate ipods more if they werent shoved at me in every concievable form of advertising possible.oh, and this sucks cus im moving the three girls making out pic down the page for this. grrr!

crash

so heading back from the pizza place, we come across traffic on the highway 5 bridge over the minnesota river... at 11oclock at night.. waht the hell? traffic was COMPLETELY stopped for about 45 minutes. i turned the car off and the girls in the car ran up the road to see waht happened... a million cop cars and ambulances and fire trucks were coming by in the middle lane and i got a good blur of an ambulance in this shit... it turns out there was a flipped over car with some kids in it farther up the road and i dont know if anyone was killed but they ended up making us turn around ont he highway and drive the opposite way... kind of a strange experience. i tell ya, going out for pizza late at night always brings an adventure!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

pizza

best pizza in the whole world at this place. it TOTALLY reminds you of something straight out of a mafia movie.. dimly lit booths and red everyhwere.... i half expect people to walk in with tommy guns and start flipping shit over and shooting. anyways, its called villa roma in saint paul and tis worth the road trip for the pizza... open till 3AM!
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

whitey

had to use the zoom function on my camera to get a shot of this twitchy bastard. its wierd, white is the minority in the squirrel world.
